The art of making Kundan Meena Jewelry is limited to the geographies of Jaipur and Bikaner in Rajasthan, India. However, this does not slow down the global demand for the craft. In the simplest definition, Kundan-Meena is the art of setting a gemstone into gold foil. In fact, the word "Kundan" means pure and refined 24kt gold.
The artisanship behind the jewelry involves two main processes. Firstly, the back of the jewelry is enameled with vivid colours, designs, and hand paint to finish. The latter process: includes the Jadaai (assembling and studding) the Diamond Polki's and Gemstones onto the jewelry. In entirety, it is a rare and creative art, requiring the utmost of care and skill to achieve perfection.
